The Power of Consistent Improvement: Harnessing the Benefits of 1% Daily Gains


We often hear about the unrealistic expectations placed on stock market investments, where a 1% daily gain is said to result in a 3200% annual return. While these numbers are highly unlikely in the unpredictable world of stocks, there is something we can control: our own actions.


2022 was a year of adjustment, as we emerged from the pandemic but struggled to fully shake off its effects. The so-called "Covid Hangover" left us feeling like we were still crawling through an air vent, even as life returned to some semblance of normalcy. But with a new year comes new opportunities for growth and improvement.


One simple example is fitness. Rather than aiming for large leaps and bounds, what if we focused on consistent, small gains of just 1% each day? Starting with 20 push-ups a day and increasing by 1% each day, by the end of the year we would be doing an incredible 741 push-ups. While the limitations of time and consistency are certainly present, the idea of reaching such an impressive goal through small, consistent gains is a powerful motivator.



This concept applies to many areas of our lives, not just fitness. We may give up too soon on something because we don't see immediate results, but persistence and consistency always pay off in the long run. It's not possible to do everything, but we can do something, and working towards that goal with unwavering consistency can lead to truly remarkable results.


Whether it's push-ups, a new skill, or a personal goal, even a small gain of 1% each day can take us to heights we never thought possible.
